Privacy Policy

In Brief
The firm is responsible for protecting the personal information it holds. Personal information is confidential, except as provided by law. Anyone who, in the course of their duties, has access to personal information held by the firm must take the necessary measures to ensure its protection and confidentiality. A procedure outlines the steps to take to reduce the risk of harm in such cases and to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

What is a privacy incident?
An unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss of personal information, or any other compromise to its protection.

What is personal information?
Any information about a natural person that allows them to be identified. A person’s name, by itself, is not personal information. However, when that name is associated or combined with other information about the same individual, it becomes personal information.

What is sensitive personal information?
Personal information is considered sensitive when, due to its nature—such as medical, biometric, or otherwise intimate—or the context in which it is used or disclosed, it gives rise to a high reasonable expectation of privacy.

Any person to whom the firm discloses personal information (including colleagues, suppliers, partners, experts, and subcontractors) must report without delay if they have reasonable grounds to believe that a privacy incident involving personal information held by the firm has occurred. This report must be made promptly to the person responsible for the protection of personal information.

Any member of the firm or staff who has reasonable grounds to believe that a privacy incident involving personal information held by the firm has occurred must also notify their supervisor or the person responsible for the protection of personal information without delay.

The firm must maintain a register of privacy incidents.
